Our Treatments
  • ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is a form of Ancient Chinese medicine, which regards pain and illness, whether physical or mental, as a sign that the body is out of balance. This imbalance occurs when the body’s ‘Qi (‘life force’ or ‘vital energy’) cannot flow freely because the energy meridians have become blocked due to any number of reasons, such as emotional or physical trauma, poor nutrition, infection or injury. By inserting fine needles into specific points, your acupuncturist will seek to re-establish the free flow of Qi to restore balance and trigger the body’s healing response.

Acupuncture is an extremely gentle and safe treatment that can be used to treat a wide range of health conditions.

  • ACUPRESSURE

Acupressure uses the same points and meridians as Acupuncture, but instead of needles, gentle or firm pressure is applied with fingers, thumbs and/or knuckles, in order to stimulate the body's energy flow and encourage its natural, self-curative abilities. Stimulation of the body's meridian system by touch is perhaps one of the oldest healing systems: acupressure techniques can be found in many other healing therapies such as Qiqong, Shiatsu and Tuina.

  • AROMATHERAPY MASSAGE

Aromatherapy combines the physical and emotional effects of massage with the therapeutic benefits of plant essences. Your therapist will mix a specific blend of oils according to your needs, aliments and/or emotional state and will massage these into the skin with soothing movements to ease away any stress or tension.

Aromatherapy oils have been found to provide both psychological and physical benefits for the body and mind.

  • NATUROPATHY

A method of healing that uses various natural means to enable an individual to achieve and maintain the highest possible level of health. Naturopathy is based on principles which focus on the person’s health as a whole, not just the individual symptons. It gives the individual tools to heal themselves and help identify and treat the cause of illness. In addition to providing recommendations on lifestyle, diet and exercise, naturopaths may also employ tools such as herbal medicine, nutritional advice and iridology (the study of the eye/iris to determine a patient’s health).

  • DEEP TISSUE/REMEDIAL MASSAGE

Based on many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish massage, a Deep Tissue treatment will focus on the deeper layers of the muscle tissues with a more intense pressure. Your therapist will use hands, forearms and/or finger, thumb and elbow pressure to work deep into the muscles and release chronic patterns of tension. Remedial massage works on a further level by applying more specialised techniques such as Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release and Muscle Energy Technique to treat a range of injuries and ailments. Deep Tissue and/or Remedial Massage can be especially helpful for those with repetitive strain injuries, stiff necks and shoulders or people experiencing lower back pain.
